Doctor Tests Positive For Coronavirus In Bayelsa

An unnamed doctor in the state of Bayelsa has tested positive for Coronavirus. The announcement was made by Governor Duoye Diri during a meeting with representatives of Bayelsa State Task Force COVID-19.
The doctor who works at the Yenagoa Federal Medical Center (FMC) was admitted to a private hospital before testing positively for the virus.
Travel history of the health official also showed he entered the state after a trip to neighboring Delta State.
The private hospital in which he was admitted was closed for decontamination. Governor Duoye Diri said the new case brings the state’s number of active cases to two.
Five other successful COVID-19 patients were treated and discharged with success.
